Issu de l'album I got dem ol' Kozmic Blues again Mama !, premier album de Janis Joplin avec The Kozmic Blues Band, le groupe qu'elle et le guitariste Sam Andrew ont formé après avoir quitté Big Brother. C'est d'ailleurs avec ce groupe qu'elle se produira à Woodstock et effectuera son unique tournée en Europe.
