Née à St Louis (Missouri), le 9 novembre 1908 et décédée à New York, le 2 juillet 1998, Kay Thompson (Katherine L. Fink) est une auteure-compositrice-interprète-scénariste-actrice et romancière américaine. Elle est connue pour ses rôles dans "Manhattan Merry-Go-Round", "The kid from Brooklyn (Le laitier de Brooklyn)", "Funny face (Jolie frimousse)" et "Tell me that you love me (Dis-moi que tu m'aimes, Junie Moon)".
S'inspirant de la vie de sa filleule, Liza Minnelli, elle est l'auteure de plusieurs livres pour enfants de la série "Eloïse".
