La chanson de Bob Dylan, "When the ship comes in" a été adaptée en français sous le titre "Le jour où le bateau viendra" par par Hugues Aufray, par Les Kent, par Le Double Cinq, par Catherine Ribeiro, par Christiane Oriol et par le CES Henri Dunant de Meaux.
Une version norvégienne "Vel i havn" est chantée par Hansen alors qu'en catalan, "El dia que el vaixell vindra" est interprétée par Ramon Casajoana i Joan Boix.
En tchèque, "Až se má loď zpátky vrát" est chantée par Waldemar Matuška tandis qu'en flamand, Miek & Roel interprètent "Als het schip verschijnt".
La version suédoise, "När vårt skepp slår till" est chantée par Totta & Wiehe.
Parmi les reprises, notons celle de Peter, Paul and Mary, celle des Hollies, celle des Pogues, celle d'Arlo Guthrie ou celle d'Annie Patterson.
