La chanson “Bye bye Johnny" par Chuck Berry a été adaptée en français par Billy Bridge sous le titre "Bye bye Johnny" et par Monty sous l'intitulé "Le collège".
En 1985 Bruce Springsten a interprété une version avec des nouvelles paroles.
Parmi les reprises, notons celle des Rolling Stones, celle de Johnny Rivers ou celle des Status Quo.
Chronologiquement c'est, dans les versions de Chuck Berry, l'histoire de la même personne dans cet ordre : "Johnny B. Goode", "Bye Bye Johnny", "Go Go Go" et "Lady B. Goode".
