"Rock the Boat" est considéré comme le 1er titre disco à atteindre la 1ère place du hit parade aux Etats-Unis. Mais il a mis du temps pour y parvenir!
Passé presque inaperçu en 73 sur leur 1er album, il ressort le 25 mai 74 en SP, réarrangé par le jeune New-Yorkais Tom Sellers qui lui apporte un son dance-reggae.
Il enflamme d'abord les clubs puis les magasins et finalement … les radios.
Six semaines plus tard, le 6 juillet 74, il devient n°1 du hit parade.
Vu l'énorme succès de ce titre, RCA décidera de le reprendre sur le second LP du groupe "Rockin Soul" (74) afin de pousser la vente de l'album. (jihemji, le 11/06/2008 à 20:51:15)
