Le titre est inclus dans la bande originale du film "Full Metal Jacket", film de guerre britanno-américain produit et réalisé par Stanley Kubrick, sorti en 1987.
Le film s'inspire du roman "Le Merdier" (The Short Timers) de Gustav Hasford4 et des mémoires de guerre de Michael Herr, intitulées "Dispatches"
