Pianiste-chanteur-auteur-compositeur et mathématicien diplômé de Harvard, Tom (Thomas) Lehrer est né le 9 avril 1928 à Manhattan (New Yok). Il a été professeur au prestigieux Massachusetts Institute of Technology puis à l'University of California. C'est en Californie qu'il va se lier avec le Dr Demento.
Il est aussi l'interprète de titres comme "Pollution", "I hold your hand in mine", "Who's next", She's my girl ou "New math.
